A solar generator (portable power station) charges fastest from a wall outlet: makers list about 49 minutes to 1.8 hours for a full charge in the 1 kWh class. Solar is next, limited by the unit’s solar input rating and the weather. A car’s 12 V socket is the slowest, at roughly ten hours for a 1 kWh unit.
Charging times by model
These are each maker’s own figures, checked October 2, 2026, except the Jackery and 2 kWh rows, which were checked September 25, 2026. “Not listed” means the figure was not on the pages we checked.
| Model | Capacity | Wall (AC) charging | Max solar input | Solar charge time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 | 1,024 Wh | 1,600 W UltraFast, full in 49 minutes | 600 W (11 to 60 V) | 1.8 hours |
| EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus | 1,024 Wh | 1,500 W, full in 56 minutes | 1,000 W (2 x 500 W) | 70 minutes |
| Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 | 1,070 Wh | 0 to 100% in 1 hour (emergency charge) | Not listed | Not listed |
| BLUETTI AC180 | 1,152 Wh | 1,440 W, 1.3 to 1.8 hours | 500 W (12 to 60 V, 10 A) | 2.8 to 3.3 hours |
| EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max Plus | 2,048 Wh | 1,800 W input | 1,000 W | Not listed |
| Jackery Explorer 2000 v2 | 2,042 Wh | 0 to 100% in about 1.7 hours | Not listed | Not listed |
| BLUETTI Elite 200 V2 | 2,073.6 Wh | 1,800 W, 80% in 1.1 hours, full in 1.4 hours | 1,000 W | Not listed |
Fast wall charging often has to be switched on. Anker’s 49-minute figure needs UltraFast charging turned on in its app, and Jackery’s 1-hour figure is its emergency charge mode. Read the manual for whether a fast mode affects battery care on your model.
Charging from solar panels

Two numbers on the spec sheet decide how panels charge a unit: the maximum solar input in watts and the voltage range. BLUETTI lists the AC180’s solar input as 12 to 60 VDC at up to 10 A and 500 W, so a panel or a string of panels must fall inside that window.
Panel watts above the input limit do not charge any faster: a unit rated for 500 W of solar takes no more than 500 W, however many panels are connected.
The makers’ solar times assume the full rated input. In practice, clouds, shade, a flat panel angle and short winter days lower the output, so plan for slower charging than the spec sheet shows. Charging from a car
A car’s 12 V socket is the slowest route. BLUETTI lists 10.1 to 10.6 hours to charge the AC180 from a 12 V socket and 5.3 to 5.8 hours from 24 V. That makes the car a way to top up between campsites, not a fast refill. Check your owner’s manual on running the engine while the socket is in use.
Charging from the wall and solar together
Some units combine sources. EcoFlow lists AC plus solar charging for the DELTA 3 Plus at up to 1,500 W in total, a full charge in 56 minutes. Anker says the SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 can charge from the grid and solar panels at the same time, using solar first and topping up from AC.
Which charging speed matters for you?
- Outage backup: wall charging speed matters before a storm, when you top up a unit that has sat for months. Solar input matters during a long outage.
- Camping and RVs: solar input and car charging matter most, because there is no outlet.
- Daily solar cycling: a high solar input limit lets you use more panels, which matters when the battery cycles every day.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to charge a solar generator with solar panels?
At the full solar input, makers list 70 minutes for the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus with 1,000 W of panels, 1.8 hours for the Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 at 600 W and 2.8 to 3.3 hours for the BLUETTI AC180 at 500 W. Clouds, shade and panel angle make real charging slower.
Can you charge a solar generator from a car?
Yes, on units with a car charging input, but slowly. BLUETTI lists 10.1 to 10.6 hours to charge the AC180 from a 12 V socket and 5.3 to 5.8 hours from 24 V, so a car is a top-up source rather than a full refill.
Can you charge a solar generator from the wall and solar at the same time?
Some models allow it. EcoFlow lists AC plus solar charging for the DELTA 3 Plus at up to 1,500 W, a full charge in 56 minutes. Anker says the SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 uses solar first and tops up from AC.
Will a bigger solar panel charge my power station faster?
Only up to the unit's solar input limit. Above that, extra panel watts are not used. The panel's voltage must also fall inside the input range, such as 12 to 60 V on the BLUETTI AC180.
